Apple set to launch iPhone 17 in Sept 2025 with thinner 'Air' model

Apple is preparing to redefine its flagship smartphone lineup with the upcoming iPhone 17 series, expected to debut in September 2025. For the first time, the company is introducing an "Air" model—replacing the Plus version—promising a radically slimmer design (around 5.5mm thin), making it the thinnest iPhone ever. The new lineup includes iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The Air and base models are expected to use the A18 chip, while the Pro models may feature the A19 Pro chipset. Significant upgrades are in store, such as a 120Hz display across all models, a 48MP rear camera with improved low-light performance, and a 24MP front-facing camera that enhances video calls and selfies. On the Pro Max, Apple will likely introduce a vapor chamber cooling system for better thermal regulation, especially during gaming or heavy multitasking. Battery life and charging speeds are also set to improve, with 50W wireless charging anticipated for the Pro line. The iPhone 17 series will also see a redesign of the rear camera layout and will come in materials like titanium or aluminum for a more durable and premium feel. The expected price for the base model in India is ₹79,999, going up to ₹164,900 for the Pro Max. These changes not only position the iPhone 17 series as a leap forward in aesthetics but also signal Apple’s focus on performance and user experience for the next wave of AI-integrated features.
